IGS Energy Partners With Operation Warm to Supply New Coats to Kids in Need
Operation Warm, a non-profit organization that provides brand-new winter coats to children in need, has partnered with IGS Energy to donate 10,000 coats to the children across the country.
COLUMBUS, Ohio, December 1, 2017 – Operation Warm, a non-profit organization that provides brand-new winter coats to children in need, has partnered with IGS Energy to donate 10,000 coats to the children across the country. Together, the two companies will hold on-site coat donations in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago, and Pittsburgh throughout the month of December.
Since 2014, IGS Energy’s donations have contributed to provide more than 4,400 new coats for kids in need throughout the energy supplier’s core markets. This year, the organization plans to surpass its goal of donating 10,000 coats through its Bundle Up campaign.
Kerri Ward, director of corporate communications at IGS, said, “We’re dedicated to giving back to the communities where we live and work. For our Bundle Up campaign, when a current or new customer ‘bundles’ our products, we make a donation to Operation Warm. We partnered with Operation Warm because there is such a strong alignment between its mission and our business – the value of keeping someone warm.”
IGS’ donations to Operation Warm are used to manufacture and provide new coats for kids in need. Operation Warm has found that giving new winter coats, as opposed to used clothing, can boost children’s self-esteem and peer acceptance, in addition to many other benefits. The organization primarily serves children ages three to 13, teaming up with select non-profit and community organizations to identify children that qualify for new coats.
“Since we began in 1998, we have served over 2 million children in need,” states Kirsten Bradley, associate director of partnerships for Operation Warm. “Over the past four years, we have been so impressed with IGS’ generosity in helping us continue our mission of providing hope, happiness and warmth to children. We look forward to working with them for many more years to come.”
