What’s life like at IGS Energy?

Here, Aziza Jameel, residential rooftop solar consultant, shares her IGS story.
Q: When did you join IGS Energy – and what led to your decision to join the team?
Aziza: I started with IGS in June 2018; I was very much interested in the work-life flexibility of the company. I work remotely, at home.
Q: What did your path to IGS look like?
Aziza: I started at IGS as a customer retention specialist, which was a fairly new role within the company, and I got to learn a lot while on the job. Then, I mentored and trained other customer retention specialists. I next went into a team lead role, followed by a market manager role. During the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was offered a role as a solar specialist, and am now a solar consultant. I’m thankful for the opportunities and promotions in such a small window of time.
Q: What are some of your team’s big initiatives currently?
Aziza: Our team’s priorities right now are to help and educate as many residents in Illinois and Pennsylvania ( about residential solar, it’s benefits, how it can help homeowners save money, and positively impact their sustainability efforts.
Q: How would you sum up the IGS Energy culture?
Aziza: We believe in the “3 Cs” – culture, camaraderie, and collaboration. Our culture is such that we at IGS understand that we’re treated as family and the result is a really positive workplace.
Q: When you think about the future of the business, what excites you most?
Aziza: Innovation. We’ve come a long way from supply just gas, to electric, to home warranty and now solar solutions for our customers. With all this innovation comes opportunity for personal growth – and of course, the opportunity to offer more tailored energy solutions to our customers.
Q: What makes IGS Energy the right workplace for you?
Aziza: I work with teammates who I can help, and, in return, I receive unconditional help when needed. Not only in my department, but companywide.
